Siem Reap town is just a few kilometers away from Angkor Wat. The giant system of ancient hindi/Buddhist temples in Cambodia. The town attracts all sorts of tourists and travelers from around the world. The people who have lived in this town for many years are now coping with the newly booming post-war tourism industry all around them. The old Sheeter-con-Beeter (my sister) and I went around taking these shots of the bartenders, message parlor girls, and families who run restaurants together. There's also a picture of my sis. enjoy:

I came across this picture yesterday in one of my old rolls. This is a young Sierra Leonean bustin a move at a soccer game. The catch is that this game was organized by an NGO called Fambul Tok, which works for reconciliation in Sierra Leon. In the game the teams were made up of a mix of victims and perpetrators who now live in the same villages. Fambul Takk organizes events such as these and reinstates community councils of elders in each village. This tradition of council was lost during the war. Also the group organizes large bon fire events where many villages in a given area unite and perpetrators are given an opportunity to beg their victim's forgiveness. Click this link to check out the Fambul Tok website there are some beautiful images on it taken by our director Sarah Terry
